To get to the Directions / Mapping feature, go to Processes > Directions / Mapping.  This feature excludes the following service categories from being used to calculate mileage if they appear on a patient's scheduling calendar:

When the page loads, it automatically defaults to the next day because most people use this feature the day before to map the nexts day's schedule. If you need to see something from another day, just select the Calendar <icon-calendar>xxx<icon-calendar> icon and change the date.

If you have access to multiple associate schedules, select the associate you want from the drop-down menu.

Once you choose a day that you have patients assigned to you will see the <btn>    Get Directions   <btn> button.  Select this to pull up directions.

Up/Down Arrow - Changes the sequence of the patients being seen. A change in sequence alters the route and the direction.

Sequence - The order in which the patients will be seen on the day you select.

Patient Name/Location - The patient names that display on the associate's schedule. If you are adding a location, the location name also displays.

Address - The address or location listed.

Service Date - The scheduled service date.

Time In/Out - Time in/out schedule and/or verified.

Service displays the service description for each scheduled service that shows in the "Directions/Mapping" screen

# Miles - Calculated mileage from mapping.

Reimbursement Mile - Number of miles documented for a verified service.

Comment - Enter your comments.

ADD NEW LOCATION <returntomenu>menu ↑<returntomenu>

Icon - Insert a location after the row selected (for example, home, office, lab, hospital).

Here you can select an address from the drop down...

OR enter a new address

You can inidcate the new location as "Starting Location".

Or "Ending Location".

Select "Save" when you have finished adding your new location.

The screen refreshes and the new location is added.

DELETE LOCATION <returntomenu>menu ↑<returntomenu>

You can also delete a location by selecting the Trash Can <icon-trashcan>xxx<icon-trashcan> icon.

Route Type - Select Shortest, Fastest, or Pedestrian route.

Language - English and Spanish versions are available.

Avoid - Select routes to avoid.

ENHANCED NARRATIVE  <returntomenu>menu ↑<returntomenu>

Enhanced Narrative - Provides more detailed information about directions.

INCLUDE MAP <returntomenu>menu ↑<returntomenu>

Include Map - If selected, displays a routing map based on patient location and sequence.

GET DIRECTIONS <returntomenu>menu ↑<returntomenu>

Get Directions - If selected, displays directions and map.

Remove this checkmark from current/prior dates if you do not want to create a mileage reimbursement record for payroll; only functions if you have not previously saved or saved/printed the directions/mapping information for that date

Save/Print - Prints the routing map and directions.

Cancel - Cancels the display.

Save - Select to attach the number of reimbursed miles to each payroll record associated with each patient listed.  

VIEW MAP AND DIRECTIONS IN GOOGLE MAPS <returntomenu>menu ↑<returntomenu>

When you make changes to the Patient/Location information (inserting or deleting addresses, or changing the sequence), the changes are saved as part of the associate mapping for the date. When you display information for the same associate or date, the last changes you made are displayed.  You can also get directions once you enter the address information by clicking on <udl-orange>View Map and Directions in Google Maps<udl-orange> which will take you to the Google Maps and the addresses you entered will flow to that.  

If no patient address information was entered in the Patient Encounter for a pending Patient, the assigned visit shows in "Mapping/Directions" with the address field being blank; when you select the <btn>   Get Directions   <btn> button, the number of miles displays a " 0 ", indicating that the number of miles for this record will not be calculated for mileage reimbursement

If you already created the "pay only" for mileage reimbursement from the Mapping/Directions option, the checkbox to "Save mileage reimbursement record for payroll" no longer displays on the screen, eliminating the possibility of duplicating the mileage reimbursement payroll record; if you change the sequence or insert insert a new location and select the <btn>   Get Directions   <btn> button, this checkbox will display again; if the mileage pay only record you previously created was "verified" through the verification process, you will no longer see this checkbox.

BYPASS TELEHEALTH VISITS <returntomenu>menu ↑<returntomenu>

In order to bypass Telehealth Visits from Directions / Mapping, you will need to make sure that your service codes have "Telehealth" checked as in the image below.
