The ability to view patient encounters is based on privileges within the system.  To view a list of all the patients in your system, go to Patients > Patient Encounters.  This list defaults to a status of "Active, Holding, Pending".

You can add a referral/patient from this screen by clicking on the <icon-greenplussign>xxx<icon-greenplussign> Add Referral / Patient.  Read more here on Add Referral / Patient.

CAREFICIENT UNIVERSITY<returntomenu>menu ↑<returntomenu>

<udl-blue>Careficient University<udl-blue> links appear at the top of each header section

Once you click on the Careficient University link, you will be presented with a pop-up of Help Articles associated with the specific part of the application that you are in.  Clicking on the link will take you to the article on the subject.

CENSUS DATES <returntomenu>menu ↑<returntomenu>

To obtain a census report, enter you census dates "From" and "To" and click "Search".  If you do not enter the dates from and to, you will not get the census report.

You can search for a patient by "Birth Date"...

MRN...

Identifier # such as Medicare Number, Insurance Identifier, etc ...

First or Last name...

When you initially access the Patient Encounter option, the primary sort displays information alphabetically based on the Patient's last name. If you are having trouble locating a Patient in the listing by last name, you can select the "Patient Name" heading to resort the listing alphabetically by first name.

You can sort your Patient Encounter listing by Patient's first name using the following path:

Note: You can select any column heading to resort the information in ascending/descending order based on the information that appears in that column. For example: You want to sort the listing by "Admit Date". The first time you select the header, the information that appears on the screen sorts oldest to newest date. Select the header again, the information that appears on the screen sorts by newest to oldest date. Select the column heading a 3rd time and the listing will appear in the original sort sequence (sorted by Patient last name, A-Z).

You can filter by selecting the drop down <btn>   All     ▾   <btn> under "Agency"...

You can filter by selecting the drop down <btn>   All     ▾   <btn> under Agency Type...

You can filter by selecting the drop down <btn>   All     ▾   <btn> under Team...

You can filter by selecting the drop down <btn>   Active, Hold, Pending  ▾   <btn> under Status...

You can filter by selecting the drop down <btn>   All     ▾   <btn> under Payer Name...

and you can filter by selecting the drop down <btn>   All     ▾   <btn> under Payer Category.

Once you make a change to any filter, you can lock <icon-openlock>xxx<icon-openlock> the option so that every time you come to patient encounters, it defaults to your locked status by clicking on the yellow lock to the right of the "Payer Category" drop down.  If at any time you change the status or any other drop down, the lock will unlock. If you want to keep that selection going forward, you will need to click the lock again.

To view the patient's contact information, hover over the address book <icon-addressgray>xxx<icon-addressgray> icon to the left of the patients name.

The patient's contact information will display.

To view the patient's encounter (chart), click on either the magnifying glass <icon-magnify>xxx<icon-magnify> icon to the right of patient's name or the patient's name <udl-orange>Dianne, Smith<udl-orange> .

REPORTS <returntomenu>menu ↑<returntomenu>

Once you have chosen your sort options, you can always export the reports by choosing your export option and clicking "Export". You have the following options when exporting patient encounter reports:

You can also create a Census Report which shows patient census per office per day.  Enter the date you want the census for and click "Search" then "Export".
