How Do I Swap Service Notes

Click here to learn more about Moving Service Notes.  Currently we do not have a way to switch/swap service notes from one patient to another.  As a work around, follow this process to do so.  If you have an open visit that has not been completed from today or in the past:

  • Patient 1
  • Add an addendum order on one of the patient for the same day and schedule a 1d1 visit. (Make note of the order ID) (If you have an open visit already that you don't have a service note on, you can skip this step)
  • Assign the same associate and type of service to the visit (this will leave 2 visits on the same day)
  • Move the service note to the newly created visit (this will make the other visit available to move the 2nd patient service note to)
  • Patient 2
  • Go to Patients > Move Service Note
  • Choose your patient and service note
  • Uncheck "Move to same patient"
  • Choose the patient you want to move the note to
  • Choose the date of visit you want to move the service note to
  • Move
  • Patient 1
  • Go to Patients > Move Service Note
  • Choose your patient and service note
  • Uncheck "Move to same patient"
  • Choose the patient you want to move the note to
  • Choose the date of visit you want to move the service note to
  • Move
  • Find the visit with the same order ID as the addendum visit that you added
  • Right click on that visit and cancel the visit
  • Go to Patient Encounter > Orders Tab
  • Click on the edit pencil for the Addendum order you created
  • Scroll to the bottom and delete the addendum order
